Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get – only with what you are expecting to give – which is everything ~Katherine Hepburn
Today we celebrate 7 years of our marriage union. Yes, a handful of years but it still feels like yesterday. Time flies when you’re having fun. I remember my DDH’s words, “ What an irony, I’m losing my independence on the daymy country marks it’s independence”. My reply was, don’t worry you’ll never lose your independence:-)
Each time we celebrate our wedding anniversary, it’s lovely to observe that he has of course, not lost his independence. According to the dictionary the word means, freedom from control or influence of another or others. I certainly do not control, do probably influence a bit but most importantly I make suggestions and just see to it that they are carried out – call it diplomacy:-)
With -22°C temperature today, sunshine and everything covered with snow outside, I’m enjoying this day and feel like a princess in Wonderland surrounded by all this beauty. Below is a glimpse of our neighbourhood…
The second celebration as I mentioned earlier, is Finland Independence Day, marking 95 years of freedom. Yesterday, we at work (teachers & students) had our own celebration. It included amongst other things a walk to a local graveyard, to lay a wreath - a commemorative symbol to the war veterans who died for this independence and freedom we celebrate today.
These proceedings are always touching and a good reminder, that things we sometimes take for granted some people put their lives on line in order to achieve them.
Whatever you do today (and any other day), don’t forget to celebrate your blessings. When we acknowledge what we have, we worry less about what we don’t have.
Cheers!

Your photos are so beautiful, but I just can’t get my head around -22C. That’s REALLY cold!
Thanks AD. Yes winter is here now and really cold that means dressing up warmly before venturing outside. As they say here, “there is no such thing as bad weather, it’s how you dress”:-)
I love that saying, Cocoa. So true. I’ll remember that when I go to New York for Christmas.
